To achieve its abundant lightness, Petalo features a solid aluminum base in a distinctive merlot red color, carefully chosen for its recyclability. This aligns seamlessly with the Molteni Group's unwavering commitment to sustainability.

The backrest, available in high and low versions, becomes a canvas for the intricate dance of polypropylene fiber ribbons. These ropes, reminiscent of nautical elements, add a touch of elegance while being resistant to water and challenging climates.

The enveloping seat cushion caters to diverse aesthetic tastes and ergonomic needs. The low backrest version comes with small, padding-free yet comfortable cushions, while the high backrest version can be configured with a large spoke cushion that lines the frame’s perimeter, seamlessly integrating with the seat to elevate the level of comfort.

For added creativity, the comfortable pouf provides an additional surface, complementing the armchair and enhancing the overall outdoor experience.

A celebration of al fresco living through a harmonious blend of design, comfort, and sustainability, Petalo marks another iconic addition to Vincent Van Duysen's timeless vision for the Outdoor Collection.

Vincent Van Duysen

Vincent Van Duysen was born in 1962, in Lokeren, Belgium and graduated in architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas, in Ghent. From 1986 to 1989 he worked in Milan and Brussels. He opened his own studio in Antwerp, in 1990 focusing on architecture and interior design. The relationship between interior design and architecture in his work is profound. Furnishings and accessories are designed with an architectural perspective that is not limited by form, but is expressed with a careful perception of interior space and its relationship to the exterior architecture. By interpreting architecture and redefining its proportions, Van Duysen creates objects of great purity and simplicity that still retain a concrete character and solid form.
