Throughout the month of September, 2024, Bloomingdale’s 59th Street in Manhattan is hosting an exclusive Salone del Mobile.Milano installation entitled “Italian Design, From Classic to Contemporary” in a celebration of Italian culture and Made in Italy design as part of the department store’s “From Italy, with Love” event series.
Molteni&C, with its iconic Gio Ponti D.154.2 armchair, is one of 23 brands chosen to showcase in the installation curated by architect Ferrucio Laviani, who has taken inspiration from the 20th-century Italian painter Giorgio de Chirico and other masters of Italian design to create an immersive display marked by juxtaposition and surprise.
The installation is a decidedly artistic and impactful encounter with Salone del Mobile.Milano and Italy’s most prestigious design brands, who, together with curator Ferrucio Laviani, tell a memorable story of Italian innovation and tradition.
