Moscow 11-30 October 2012 The exhibition is part of the Year of Italian Culture and Language in Russia. The project aims to open a window on Italy by means of an unusual narrative journey. Unlike conventional fairs, this event guarantees strong media coverage, business opportunities for our companies and a spotlight on Italian design. It is to be staged in the industrial archaeological complex of Krasny Oktyabr, an art-world hotspot situated on the man-made island of Bolotny, right in the centre of Moscow and in one of the city’s most vibrant locations, teeming with dynamic and enterprising young people. The exhibition devoted to home furnishings will be dotted with objects that have made Italian design famous all over the world. It will be a showcase for Italian ingenuity and creative flair and as such it will act as an interface between Italian entrepreneurship and the world. It will highlight the key concepts and the specifics of our manufacturing system, also via historical elements and a series of significant icons that guide visitors through a pathway of great emotional impact. The objects on display will illustrate the importance of creativity and quality in Italy’s heritage and culture, recalling our roots but projecting them towards the future and innovation. Molteni&C focuses its attention once again on the masters of architecture and design by taking part in “Eccellenze italiane d’oggi” [Italian Excellence Today] in Moscow, within the context of the Welcome to Design exhibition with a project involving re-makes of furniture and furnishings designed by renowned 20th century maestro Gio Ponti. www.exhibitaly2012.com
