Because nobody can predict them. They are a series of dots on a trajectory. They are called history, passion, enterprise, know-how. 50 years ago, 24 September 1961 witnessed the inauguration of the very first Salone. It was the brainchild of 13 of Italy’s top furniture manufacturers. 13 entrepreneurs – including Angelo Molteni - came together because they shared a strategic vision: to work as a “system”. 50 years later, Molteni&C inaugurated Spazio QM, in Giussano, a space that represents Quality. An on-going project that tells you who we are but, more especially, where we want to go. Because our quality is made up of products but, above all, of processes. And we want to stage them here, in Giussano, in the area where we grew up. Local and global, home turf and the world at large, products and history. Because in 1961 our aim was to persuade foreigners to come to the fair, in Milan. Today, now that the system is up and running and we are present all over the world, with the stores and people that represent us, we fancy staying in Brianza, and bringing the world here, to the beating heart of our production. It’s only here that the Chinese and the Indians can really appreciate what the quality of Italian furniture means. Only by observing the people that work for quality every single day. This is where we are starting all over again, today, 50 years later.
