QallaM: Quality rewarded

In addition to being listed in the 2011 ADI Design Index, on June 2012 the QallaM [Q to the power of M] project, a book, a space and a road show on the subject of Molteni Quality, received the “Premio dei Premi” National Innovation Award, set up courtesy of the President of the Italian Republic and assigned at the suggestion of ADI, which also awarded QallaM the 2011 ADI Design Index Prize for Innovation. “For the “QallaM” (Quality to the power of Molteni) business research project that focuses on the characteristics of quality, demonstrating how design is expressed through products, processes and service.” The ADI was invited to become part of the “Premio dei Premi” committee as its Design expert and it advises the President of the Republic on the three awards in this category. QallaM has thus received two awards that underline the key role played by designers in working alongside business to promote the culture of project design. Two important prizes for a complex idea of innovation that has seen Molteni&C engaged in a 3-year reflection on the subject of Quality. First in print, in its book QallaM, then in its production unit in Giussano with Spazio QallaM, and lastly in a road show that has taken its “Qualità in viaggio” [Quality on tour] exhibition round Italy and abroad. The QallaM project has thus established itself as a creative workshop that moves from the heart of production out into the domains of design and architecture, providing an opportunity for reflection and for exchanges of ideas that help define the way innovation can inspire future business and territorial planning developments.
